All I can say is… Yowsers! I attended Body Pump class over lunch at 24-hr fitness and all I can say is, WOW! I laughed, I cried, and then I cried some more. What a tough class but clearly one that is gonna make me tough. I really want that cool curvy line between my triceps and biceps but that may take a lot of effort. Body Pump is all about strength and endurance and involves weight lifting in an aerobic setting. There’s a lot of equipment and it’s fast paced but I left there with my arms twitching. So much so that I couldn’t hold my iPhone in my right arm driving back to the office without it shaking.
I would recommend body pump but start with the philosophy of LESS IS MORE. This means start with lighter weights and work your way up. Pump it up and get fit in 2011!

If you want to try Les Mills Body Pump or Combat from home – they are available on DVD. (you can buy them at teambeachbody.com/gretcheny)
All I have to say about Body Pump is….they lie. As you mentioned, when the instructor tells you to put “two-and-a-half to three times your warm up weight on” for this track…ignore them and go for less.

Haa haa nice to meet u btw and yes. The bar is enough for me
When I first heard that beachbody was coming out with a home edition of body pump, I was soooo excited. I took a similar class at a gym 3 years ago called group power that changed the way I thought about working out. Body pump get’s right to the point and get’s the job done. I have been doing it for 3 weeks now following the phase one guide and I am in LOVE all over again! I’m not a fit person but after every workout I can feel the difference and each workout get’s better and better!!!
I’ve been doing body pump for the past few months twice a week. It is great, though every day I wonder why I chose to do it, and then I remember that dang I want a tight body! So I keep going back…. There are a few more new classes coming up that I’m excited about, one being Commando (no, I don’t think this has anything to do with not wearing underwear). I think it starts in October?

Nice… you go girl… and yeah the pain is worse two days after than the day after…
ha
I don’t care what anyone may think, but SUPREME 90 DAY is as good, if not better than P90X, BodyPump, Insanity, etc.
And you can’t beat the price.
If you research, you can pretty much adapt S90D to meet the specifics of all the other OVERPRICED workouts.
I have seen individuals on YOUTUBE who are Beachbody “coaches” who claim to have tried every BB program and are not endorsing BodyPump.
Regretfully, by the physical looks of some, they have wasted a ton on money for little or no results.
Just my 2 cents.

More often. I am more into yoga these days.
Yoga is great for you too though! Really good for your core and balance.. both physically and in life.

I can vouch for going light. I wish I’d read your review before I first tried Body Pump!
Glad you enjoyed it, and I will be watching for that bicep/tricep definition.
Haaa yes let’s both look for it. Between this and all those chatarangas in yoga, maybe it can happen. Thanks for the comment Lori. We need to still go sometime together
P90x transformed my body. I would only recommend it to people that are already in shape…. If you don’t pass the p90x fit test, turn back!
