A few weeks back I had a post and giveaway here for circus tickets…. and the winner was announced. Well, I am excited to be attending my first circus (well, aside from Cirque De Soleil of course) in a very long time.
We are going on opening night and heading out to see the Circus. We are super excited and as part of the Fully Charged program, we will also get a tour of the animals and handling of them, get to see the program before the real show begins. We are excited and I know my husband and I are curious to see how my kids will react because they are 2 and 4 and this is their first circus. We went to Boulder a couple weeks ago to try out a new Indian fast food cafe called Tiffin’s– this place is 100% family owned and operated and for me, a taste of my mom’s homemade cooking- no restaurant fluff here! We know the owners but that did not influence me- I am a foodie at heart and do consumer reviews all the time. And if you doubt me, check out reviews on yelp and just in case I was biased, I took a friend along who has an amazing Indian Food blog – all things indian food and she is @indianfoodrocks. She also wrote an amazing review on Yelp – check out all the reviews before you head in and decide for yourself. I think it’s time Boulder got a fast food, reasonably-priced cafe with home cooking like this- it has been a long time coming! So, put on your walking shoes, or ride a bike and if you live far away, feel free to drive on in to Buff country – the corner of Arapahoe and Folsom and check out Tiffin’s extensive menu.

For Indians and all Indian-food lovers, I think it is great to get snack places like this one because they are far and few between . You can get a variety of foods without being locked into heavy creams, or large portions of just one dish and buffets are just too much! The place is simple, cafeteria-like but you can get channa masala with whole wheat bread like mom makes & South Indian fare. The daal soups are a must try and of course, kids’ favorite are idlis & dosas straight up! There are plenty of homemade dessert options too and mango lassi that will complement any meal and fill you up too!

Pav Bhaji and Bhel is traditional Indian street fare but there’s no need to travel to India when you can get your fix in Boulder, so, check out Tiffin’s and give the small, family-owned business a try – I love that you can get a variety here and leave wanting more….
When offered the opportunity to review a fun play-doh play-dates activity website, I was thrilled. After all, my kids already love play-doh and come up with some pretty amazing things without even being prompted. Birthday cakes and tea parties are just the beginnings and thanks to their activity website (which I did not know about before this opportunity), we got even more great ideas on how to interact them and stimulate their already creative imaginations. The website is very easy to use & navigate and there are themes for play-doh creations. We focused in on the Fresh Ideas button since it had a cupcake displayed and my kids love desserts. From there, they chose their theme for our play session to be sweets and sure enough, the sky was the limit. They made ice cream, cupcakes, candies, and cookies. We had a blast as you can see from a few of our pictures posted here, my older daughter made the best little pastry and dessert shop on the block!
Step by Step instructions to make a play-doh PIZZA
No matter what theme your kids choose to model after, the play-doh ideas are fun and give you step-by-step instructions without pictures and graphics so you can’t go wrong. But there is more to this website if you do not have play-doh on hand (come on who doesn’t have play-doh on hand?). Anyway, you can do crafts like make placements which all have activities for the kids, or build a perfect snack together (a real snack, not play-doh) – healthy and fun because your child is involved with you. Crafts are fun too because they follow the theme for what you can make play-doh items for so, for example, September’s theme is Pizza Shop, so you and your kids can enjoy a PLAY-DOH pizza party! There is the option to make pizzas, calzones, and gelato out of play-doh but then you can make crafts like pizza boxes, a menu, and an OPEN sign for your private pizzeria. Is anyone getting hungry? But wait… don’t eat the play-doh just yet… the website has ideas for snacks too because all this imagination can really build up an appetite. You can make your own organic pizza muffins or soup. Yum!
The fun and imagination is endless.
