Here is a brief description of the movie: 11-year-old orphan, Félicie (Elle Fanning) has one dream – to go to Paris and become a dancer. Her best friend Victor (Nat Wolff), an imaginative but exhausting boy with a passion for creating, has a dream of his own – to become a famous inventor. In a leap of faith, Victor and Félicie leave their orphanage in pursuit of their passions. But – there’s a catch, Félicie must pretend to be the child of a wealthy family in order to gain admittance to the prestigious and competitive Opera Ballet School in Paris. And with no professional dance training, she quickly learns that talent alone is not enough to overcome the ruthless, conniving attitudes of her fellow classmates, led by the devious Camille Le Haut (Maddie Ziegler) and her wicked mother Régine (Kate McKinnon). Determined to succeed, Félicie finds her mentor in the tough and mysterious school custodian, Odette (Carly Rae Jepsen) who, along with Victor’s encouraging friendship, help her reach for the stars.

LEGO #Brickfest Live – everything was awesome!

If you are a Lego(c) lover like my kids are, you simply must find the time to find Lego #Brickfest in a city near you.  We checked out Denver’s #BrickFest at the Merchandise Mart on Sunday, August 13, and the #brickfest was fun – like past years there were lots of activities and plenty of stations to use your imagination and build.  The girls and

I also enjoyed trivia, which was something new this year for us. They handed out a ton of prizes for answering LEGO trivia questions correctly.   The girls enjoyed building a giant mosaic, and being part of that – it was Darth Vader this year, and doing mosaics of their own to put up for the world to see.

Like previous years, the kids enjoyed building cars and racing them.  There was so much to do and see, and build with, one four-hour session did not seem like enough, but here’s to next year’s #Brickfest.  We will be there.  If you can, catch one in a city near you. The tour schedule is posted here. We had a lot of fun and it was not crowded at all on Sunday, the last session, so the lines were short, and the kids could do activities they loved multiple times.  Everything was just awesome!

Groupon Coupons & Ebates- a better way to shop

Recently, because I do more on-line shopping, I have signed up to get notifications from sites like groupon, and ebates and use all the sites together.  I have found that if I am going to buy something anyway, if I check on-line sites like groupon and coupon sites, and use them in conjunction with Ebates, I get money back and discounts for things I am going to buy anyway.

But, I did not know that groupon had a coupon site to sites or stores where you are shopping anyway like Target, Walgreens, and so many other stores.  Even your cell phone carrier may have a coupon on groupon coupons.  I have promoted AT&T wireless before, and groupon has a coupon site for AT&T and other carriers as well!  Go here and you can search for your favorite stores on Groupon Coupons.

So, if you are going to shop for things anyway or buy new mobile devices, you might as well use groupon and groupon coupons.  I also double my benefits by making sure my laptop and phone has Ebates active (learn more and sign up here for Ebates), for all purchases I make at groupon, and the stores/sites that groupon provides coupons and deals for.  What a great way to save some money while shopping for the things you need.  Sign up for Groupon here and check out all of Groupon’s coupons and if you want to sign up for Ebates, use this link and we both get money back.

Lilies for Looper by Rachel Foster Stuart

We had the pleasure and opportunity to  check out a new children’s book, because one of my best friends is the author.  Lilies for Looper, by Rachel Foster Stuart is a very cute, well-written book for young kids.  The illustrations are out of this world!  Mary Belcher did an amazing job of illustrating the creative thoughts and beautiful words in this book.

The book has messages for kids on adventure, taking risk, and exploring the world around you. It’s about feeling wonderment.  It’s a short read, and perfect for young readers.  With pictures that help keep them engaged, it’s a must read for toddlers and kids.  My kids are older, and read chapter books, but even they enjoyed reading it, reading the book to others, and it was fun to watch.

You can win your own copy of Lilies for Looper, just enter to win by leaving a comment to this post — answer this:  When did you recently feel wonderment – please share your experience with us.   Thanks for entering and good luck!  I will pick one winner on July 14. Happy reading!

Feel free to check out the book here at amazon.com and read more about the author and see coloring pages here at I am My Life Facebook Page.
